In a time where the pandemic is affecting so many in so many different ways, we brought Thanksgiving dinners and weeks of groceries to our hero military and veterans families. This initiative was part of our Helping Heroes Project, run by our Outreach Director ‘The Doc’.

This included turkeys, fresh produce and non-perishables donated by Powerhouse Gym of Whippany, the Pyrys Military Affairs Group and members of the Orange Police Department through our food drive.

We could not have done this without our volunteer drivers James Ludolph, Ricky Santiago, Robert Stys, Roberto Obregon and even our organization president Michael D. Boll. They filled up five cars, trucks and vans and delivered to our hero families .

A special thank you to Elsie Cruz, who helped Doc coordinate the logistics of the plan. Thank you to Robert Bouthillette and Joe Vanore, who coordinated with Doc to send all of the trimmings hot meals to two of our hero families!

6-13-19  On behalf of the New Jersey Veterans and Operation Rebound Racing Teams, I would like to thank Union High School and Police Officer Michael Lodguidice for having us speak to the senior class about the dangers of driving while under the influence and impaired.
All of the kids were well engaged and listened intensely to the powerful message presented my friend and teammate, Sean McGuirk, who told his personal and tragic story of taking the life of a hero police officer while driving intoxicated.
McGuirk explained in detail how he lives with the fact that he took the innocent life of not only a person, but a police officer who was out simply doing his job protecting others. An experience that caused and continues to cause unimaginable pain and loss to the officer’s family, due to his irresponsible actions.
McGuirk concluded his amazing presentation by informing the Class of 2019 that he now mentors people who use drugs and or alcohol and hopes that he can prevent future tragedies from occurring by telling his story; a story that he wishes he hadn’t lived.
Lastly, McGuirk informed his audience that he now leads a positive life through his sobriety as he focuses on participating in positive events such as ultra-races and Ironman competitions.
